Have you been thinking about finally jumping on the InBody scale? We know you have questions so we asked one of our FIT RxN athletes who has been monitoring her Body Composition what it’s like. Read on and then schedule your Initial Assessment!
What made you decide to do your initial InBody Analysis?
Lol-more like ‘who’! Aside from Mr. Ray giving me no option, I did it because I had made a choice to improve my fitness level and I wanted to accurately track my results.
What was the initial process like?
Easy…nothing to it. I did have a suspicious feeling that it was a bit hokey- I’m not going to lie! But as soon as I saw the first analysis I realized it was legit.
How often do you do follows ups?
Have there been any surprises in the results?
1)Before the InBody I was more concerned with my ‘body weight’ and my ‘problem areas’ than anything else but I soon realized that true fitness has nothing to do with your body weight- or conventional perception of it at least. The InBody taught me to see my physical self as a a combination of aspects- not strictly a number on the scale or to focus strictly on a specific part of my body.
2) It constantly tells me to put on more fat which I never expected! Even when I’ve technically ‘gained’ a few pounds.
3) The latest follow up is showing that I need to work on adding muscle to my legs which I didn’t expect.
4) I’m always fluctuating in weight but my BMI has steadily decreased and my muscle has increased.
What are some of the benefits that you see in doing the InBody?
It definitely shows you the progress that don’t actually see happening. For those who are serious about staying the course the InBody helps you stay motivated when you don’t think anything is changing.
Has this process changed your fitness plan at all?
It has changed my expectations on how my body is changing. It’s no longer about losing weight or how my clothes fit- it’s about how truly healthy I am. I’m a lot more patient about how quickly I’m improving. And it’s great to see that I actually need to put on fat- so I don’t feel so guilty about ordering the chicken tenders at the Pier! 😉
Any advice/tips for people who are thinking of adding the InBody to their fitness plan?
You look forward to seeing your progress and psychologically you are more patient with yourself because the mirror is deceptive in giving you results. It definitely keeps you staying the course especially when you feel like you can start slacking!
